The World-Famous Tokyo Character Street!

There's one place in Tokyo where the stores for all sorts of popular characters are gathered; the world-famous Character Street!

It's easy to get to - it's part of the huge Tokyo station development (so it's really easy to get to on the Yamanote line and lots of other lines), just head for the Yaesu exits, keep an eye out for signs and you won't go far wrong!

There's so many shops on Character Street, there's something for everyone:

We took a tour round the stores - they're a great place to pick up some souvenirs or small gifts for family and friends back home.

Here's the Yo-kai Watch store:

Mr picked up a gamecard wallet for his 3DS games featuring Jibanyan:

He also chose this cute Tokyo-limited charm featuring Jibanyan cosplaying as a maid!

There was also a Jump shop selling character goods from manga like One Piece and Naruto:

There's a Tomica Shop too, selling toy cars:

This is where we got some of our TsumTsum cars:

There's also a Snoopy Town mini, full of goods featuring Snoopy and Woodstock:

Another popular store was the Moomin Shop mini:

Of course, there's an NHK Character Shop:

And it's full of Domo-kun items, it even had some Funko Pop! figures:

We had to visit the Donguri Republic store, filled with Studio Ghibli goods:

Here we picked some Totoro plush magnets for our collection:

Pinkuiropixie also picked some Kawaii stationery, first a set of Totoro stamps:

And some cute tape featuring Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service:

There's a Miffy Style store too:

And there's no way Hello Kitty was going to miss out!  This shop was like a trimmed down Gift Gate or Vivitix, but is still a great place to grab some souvenirs!

Then there was a Rilakkuma store:

Next up was a small stall (provided by Kiddy Land) selling Monchhichi goods:

There's a Kyurutto Shop full of cute Capybara-san goods:

Next was an Ultraman Shop:

There's a Nameko Market, selling everyone's favourite fungus!

The Aikatsu Style store is similar to the one in the Cute Cube, Harajuku:

Magical Girls were also well-represented in the Pretty Cure shop:

The Tamagotchi Store Tokyo stocks similar items to the TamaDepa in Harajuku:

But it does have an awesome display showing Tamagotchi through the different generations of devices:

There's also a giant Tamagotchi - hello Kuchipatchi!

One of the main attractions for us was the Pokémon Store:

Mr couldn't wait and got stuck right in!!

This store has its own mascot, the station master Pikachu:

Pinkuiropixie spotted a whole rack of Pokébutts!

We had to grab the Character Street-limited Pikachu plush:

They also had the November monthly Pikachu plush available:

Pikachu has been in the forest collecting mushrooms - his duffle coat even has a special hood to keep his ears nice and toasty - but what's that, has he picked a Foongus by mistake?!

From one of the gachapon at the store Mr got this cosplaying Pikachu figure:

Character Street is definitely worth visiting if you like Kawaii characters - it has so many under one roof that it's an ideal way to pick up little mementos of all your favourites in one place.  Most of the shops have gachapon machines so you can pick up a little souvenir really cheaply too.

Tokyo Station also has lots of places to eat as well, so if you get hungry from shopping you won't have far to go!  There's a whole 'Ramen Street' for a filling meal or a Calbee+ if you fancy some freshly cooked crisps topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce(!)

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^
