Artist Review - TJ Lubrano

I became aware of the artist TJ Lubrano from a couple of games she has provided the artwork for (we'll be reviewing those games here soon!) - from following her on Instagram I heard about her Etsy store and when I saw that a collection of 'Tiny Tea Geishas' she had shown on Instagram were being made available for purchase, I knew I had to try and get one for our Kawaii home!

However, after seeing the original watercolour pieces available, I couldn't settle for just one! I ended up picking four:

These ladies are Mitsuko (top left), Kotatsu (top right), ChōChō (bottom left) and Chiyoha (bottom right).  Aren't they all adorable?  The photo doesn't do these original watercolours justice - they are absolutely beautiful and we are very, very happy to own this art.

But that's not all - also in the beautifully wrapped package was a beautiful gift - another original watercolour painting, this time it is of a 'Pinecone Elfling':

The Elfling is just too cute! The colours and detail in this painting are gorgeous.  Even the artist's business cards feature Kawaii art!

TJ Lubrano sells various pieces of original art in her store, as well as printables (high quality JPG images you can print yourself to decorate your home).  The buying experience was super smooth and TJ Lubrano is super-friendly and helpful - we really recommend you check out her store if you want to add a little Kawaii to your home!

Kawaii Christmas 2015

Well, the festive period has come and gone, but we haven't had chance to tell you about our Kawaii haul from Christmas 2015, so here we go!

We had already decided that we were getting each other a New Nintendo 3DS - Pinkuiropixie asked for the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer edition New 3DS:

While Mr asked for the metallic blue version, and a copy of Pokémon Conquest:

Of course, it wasn't going to stay just metallic blue - before Christmas Day was over Mr had decorated it with some B-SIDE LABEL stickers! The No Idol No Life sticker was his favourite that he picked up in Harajuku:

We both agreed a budget to buy some smaller presents as well so that we could have some fun surprises on Christmas Day!  Pinkuiropixie got some Animal Crossing Amiibo cards to go with her new game and console:

Next up was a triple-pack of Di Depux necklaces; a Harajuku kanji design and two different kawaii cloud pieces:

The pieces are all super cute and really well made!

Pinkuiropixie has been enjoying exchanging cute letters with her penpal, so Mr chose some Sanrio stickers to add to the ever-growing stationery drawer, some washi paper stickers featuring the Little Twin Stars and a Hummingmint set.

Pinkuiropixie had bought a 40th anniversary plush of Lala when we were at Puroland in 2015, but they didn't have the Kiki one... well, Mr tracked down the elusive plush as a Christmas surprise!

Next up was a starter set and two decks for the Sailor Moon card game:

It looks super Kawaii, we can't wait to play it!

Pinkuiropixie also received some Sailor Moon Cookie charms:

They look just like cookies with super detailed icing!

Finally, Pinkuiro got the second Harajuku Alta Disney Store limited TsumTsum box set:

This limited edition set includes Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Marie and Clarice!

Mr received a boost to his One Piece collection:

Yes, from Water Seven, through the whole of the Thriller Bark arc into Sabaody!

Next up was a creepy cute game from the same publisher as Sushi Go!, Monster Café:

We're looking forward to playing this fun looking game!

Mr's a big Stitch fan, so this awesome Funko Pop! vinyl figure was an ideal present:

We'd had an awesome time in the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo, so Pinkuiropixie tracked down a memento that we weren't able to get during our trip - a set of pin badges featuring the mascot for the Center, Pikachu cosplaying as Mega Charizard Y:

As you might know, Mr is a big Nico Yazawa fan, so Pinkuiropixie made sure to grab some LoveLive! gifts!  First up was a rubber charm Nico:

This went straight onto Mr's Nico Decora Zip on his 3DS case!

Finally Mr received a pair of LoveLive! Hako Vision boxes:

Of course, one had to feature Nico Yazawa, and the other features Hanayo Koizumi!  These 3D projection boxes are so much fun!  The Boxes feature songs by μ's as well as the mini idol units BiBi and Printemps.

We hope you had a fun, Kawaii filled Christmas too!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^

Valentines Tsums 2016

In my last post I showed you some of the new Tsums that arrived from America and the Disney Store. As well as the Lion King and expression Tsums that we bought from the Disney Store we also purchased their new Valentines TsumTsums!

They have two sets available to buy either online or in store, the first set we picked up was a Minnie and Mickey Mouse Valentines set:

Minnie has her trade mark bow and the centre is a heart, shes also wearing a red dress covered in white hearts with a white frilly skirt! She looks super cute! Mickey is dressed as Cupid, with red trousers covered in white hearts (to match Minnie's dress) and a set of white wings!

Here they are sharing a smooch:

You can see both outfits match with Mickey even having an embroided gold bow on his side to complete his Cupid look!

The other set that the Disney Store have available is the Valentines Day Chocolate Box set:

The box is a pinky colour with a red ribbon for a handle. Instead of black, each Tsum has brown on it to match the chocolate box theme, aren't they adorable! The back of the box shows what each Tsum is wearing:

I haven't removed mine from the box as I didn't want to damage the outfits and hearts on the side of them so here is an awesome pic of the Tsums from the Disney Store website:

How cute do they look!! Their outfits look like chocolate wrappers!! I'm super happy with the set. I know some people complain that it's the same characters in the box sets, but this contains Pooh and Piglet, who aren't in the big 8, so that does make a change, if that's what you like. Like I said, I left mine in the box as it makes a really nice display piece to go with the rest of our collection, which is rapidly growing!

The next set to come out at the Disney Store is the Guardians of the Galaxy as I mentioned in my last post, after that, on the first Tuesday in February they will be releasing a huge collection (13) for the new Disney film Zootropolis, here's a pic from their site showing you what they will look like:

Zootropolis is being released in March, so do you buy them before seeing whether you like the film and characters?! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

New Year, New Tsums - Marvel, Lion King and more!

We have had a few TsumTsum deliveries this week! One we have been waiting for since before Christmas and the other we ordered this week.

The first set of TsumTsums to turn up were the full set of Guardians of the Galaxy Tsums that were released by the Disney Store in America, and they do not disappoint!

The set was of all 5 Guardians, on the bottom row (from left to right) we have Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Racoon and Groot. And on the top row we have Gamora and a masked Star Lord! They are some of the most detailed Tsums we have seen to date, very much like the Avenger Tsums that were released in the UK. We bought them as soon as they became available from the US as we didn't have a clue whether these were going to be made available here in the UK, luckily for anyone that missed ordering them from the US they are being made available here on 19th January at the Disney Store. So if you're a Marvel fan make sure you get your hands on them before they're gone!

Our other TsumTsum delivery this week was from the Disney Store here in the UK. On Tuesday they released a new set of Tsums from the Lion King:

It's a big collection of 9 Tsums and includes (from the top row left to right) Nala, Simba, Timon, Pumbaa, Mufasa, Zazu, Rafiki, Scar and Ed. It's a super cute collection and includes everyone I can think of from the movie (except the other two hyenas). I think my favourite is Pumbaa, as everytime I say Pumbaa Mr sings "when I was a young warthooooooog!" lol.

The Disney Store also released some of the expressions version Tsums that I picked up:

Here are the winking Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Marie and Daisy. They also released two new sleepy versions:

Here are sleepy Dumbo and Stitch (who looks more angry than sleepy) ^^. I also picked up a pink version of Minnie Mouse that they released:

Being a huge fan of Minnie Mouse I just had to add this to my basket! ^^ She's even got her dotty dress!

I grabbed these from the online store and had a super fast delivery experience, as usual. But you can pick these up in store at any Disney Store! Remember it's also worth keeping your eye out in Clintons as they sell other Tsums that you can't find in the Disney Store!

Check back later this week to see some of the extra special Tsums we ordered from the Disney Store!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^
