Happy Birthday Hello Kitty! ^^ 40 years of the Kawaii Queen!

Today is Hello Kitty's 40th Birthday!! To celebrate I have pulled together a few of my favourite plushes!

Sanrio have been celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Hello Kitty's debut, which was on a small coin purse, throughout the whole of 2014. The celebrations have taken place world wide and have included designer collaborations, songs and the great Hello Kitty Con that took place this week in Los Angeles.

Being such a big Anniversary visiting Puroland was at the top of our itineary when we visited Tokyo in February. Puroland is the main Sanrio attraction in Tokyo and it did not dissappoint! Sanrio had created a new Hello Kitty House within Puroland which you could take a tour around. Earlier in the year I posted a full post on the fabulous Lady Kitty House.

Puroland performs a parade everyday around the magical tree, so as well as her new home, they created a whole new parade to celebrate her Birthday, called Arigato Everyone! So after finding the best viewing seat we settled down, cameras ready! As the performers start singing a song about Hello Kitty and her twin sister Mimmy - here she is, Hello Kitty!!

The parade consists of dancers, acrobats, colourful floats and of course, all of your favourite Sanrio characters! Throughout the show there are musical numbers performed around the magical tree with the characters moving round the tree so that everyone gets a chance to see their favourites.

The main song in the Arigato Everyone! parade was a performance by the Kawaii Queen herself, Hello Kitty and is joined by her twin sister Mimmy:

At the end of the parade, all of the White family members board their floats to do a tour around the tree to wave goodbye!

The parade was spectacular, as a huge Hello Kitty fan it was a priviledge to get to see it! Hope you enjoyed this post, I'm off to party with Kitty, heres to the next 40 years!! Pa,Pa,Pa,Pa, Party Party!!

Catch you later Kawaiisters!! ^^
